President aims to vaccinate 1.5 million people per day.
The Defense Department announced on Friday that it had recently received a request from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to aid in the national distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine. “The Department is evaluating the request, and what kinds of support it can provide,” according to Pentagon press secretary John Kirby.
President Biden has publicly stated that he wants to distribute the vaccine to 1.5 million people per day over the coming weeks in order to get 100 million shots in arms by his first 100 days in office. The president said, “It’s going to be a logistical challenge that exceeds anything we’ve ever tried in this country, but I think we can do that.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That the Defense Department would be able to effectively coordinate with FEMA to distribute the vaccine.
- For Defense Secretary Austin and acting DHS Secretary Pekoske as they leads their departments.
- For the Lord to work through the president’s administration to end the pandemic.
